Something To Believe In - Parachute

I know it's been a while since I have posted and this will be the last time I make one of these apologetic opening statements. I graduated from college two weeks ago and I finally have free time at home to work on the blog. I have been documenting makeup and looks over all of this time so I definitely have some catching up to do.

About a month ago, I went to a Parachute and Andy Grammer concert on my campus. It was such a great show and I was so excited to have them come to my school!

For this look, I used some clothes in the back of my closet for a surprisingly chilly and rainy day. My makeup look included a clean cat-eye with an overall natural finish.

Christian Siriano for Payless

If at any point in your life you feel the need to buy these for me, PLEASE DO!

They are part of the christian siriano line for payless and are only 59.99... Super affordable, which is my fave part of his payless line and probably why his line is the top selling collab line for the store.

A few weeks ago I attended a trunk show of siriano's and had the chance to spea

k with his partner Brad Walsh, he explained to me the process that Siriano uses to make his printed fabric. Evidently he takes a portion of a photograph, blows it up beyond recognition, and changes the color and finally has his print... Interesting huh? Any

way, now every time I see a piece of his clothing or in this case, shoes, I try to guess what the photo was before being distorted..... I have no clue on this one but if I had to guess I would say.....some sort of building... What's your guess?

********UPDATE: i was going through some of my pictures taken at the trunk show and realized that i had found the exact print from these shoes - only in a dress.

This piece (below) was actually a picture, taken by Brad Walsh, of a tulip (if im not mistaken) and used to create this print.

Nashville Fashion Week

Nashville fashion week closed a few weeks ago and all I have to say about it is uhm, WHY THE HELL HASN’T THIS HAPPENED SOONER?

I went into this thinking "Please God, don’t let this be a hot mess" – because let’s be honest, it could have been. I arrived at the venue on Thursday about 15 min early and got in line with media and they led us to the photo pit. Right before the show kicked off, a member of the NFW team came to me and asked if I wanted a seat on the front row. Did I even have to think about this? uhh no. Did they seat me RIGHT next to Traver Raines? Yes. I took my seat and waited for the show to start.

Olia Zavozina, White Rabbit, Cooper by Courtney Warren, Union of Angels, and Christian Siriano all showed their collections but to be honest…… the show stopper was DEFFFFFF White Rabbit designed by Shea Steele. I was LIVING for the pompom lariats and color blocking. Siriano's show was amazing too, but you already knew that.

Kelly Cutrone was also there but she was busy getting Sh*t done in the back. I have to say, after the show I was SERIOUSLY impressed with the way everything went down. Nashville was definitely letting the industry know they meant business. So here’s to hoping this continues on
