Hi all! I promise I'll stop starting off every one of my posts with, "I'm sorry I haven't been posting." A week or so ago I went to Train and Mat Kearney's concert with my mom and her friend. I had a really great time. I'm a big fan of Mat Kearney. It was great to finally see him live. I wasn't disappointed. I saw Train last year with Maroon 5. It was nice to see them again, as well. Very talented people! If you have a chance: be sure to check out the tour!
Here is my eyeshadow look from that show:

Wide Awake - Katy Perry
I'm back from London! I had an absolutely incredible experience studying abroad. Bear with me while I continue to update my personal blog along with this one. I tried posting while over there but I didn't have reliable internet service in the dorms like I was promised. Anyway, I can post them all now! Here is something I tried to post the very first week in London:
Before I left I had a mini-shopping trip in Walmart. I stocked up on travel-sized items and couldn't resist picking up some nail polish also. It was an unnecessary purchase but the "new" sticker made it very necessary in my mind. I bought Sally Hansen's Magnetic Nail Polish in Polar Purple. I was skeptical at first but ended up loving it! The instructions were very clear and easy.

"STEP 1: Apply 1 coat of base coat. Shake Magnetic Nail Color to activate. Remove overcap with magnet and set aside. Apply 1 coat of Magnetic Nail Color to all 10 nails and let dry.
STEP 2: Apply a thick second coat of color to 1 nail and immediately hold the built-in magnet over the nail. Rest the guide just below the cuticle without touching the wet nail polish. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat for all 10 nails and let dry. Finish with top coat."I had no problems at all and I loved the results.

Swagger Jagger - Cher Lloyd
Hey guys! 9 days until I leave for my trip!! I'm so super excited I can barely stand it! Its the biggest trip I've ever taken. I haven't mentioned it much...bbecause it hasn't even seemed real... but it is! Ill be going to the finale night of fashion week in knoxville, then flying to disney for a few days, then roadtripping to nashville for a concert (omg one direction) and then going to washington dc and nyc! Eeeeeeek. Seriously gonna be crazy.
Anyway! Onto the polish... I recently received a package from my friend jewli in PAA. She sent me more TWINS! Haha I love them. I decided I would use troy and gabriella first. I mattified gabriella with matte about you, and free handed a sparkly tip with troy. I actually liked this mani and normally I loathe any french tip.
I think I'm gonna try and do a series of all of my essence twins. Who do u want to see next? Edward/bella romeo/julia or chuck/blair??

What Are You Waiting For (Allen Morgan Remix) - Lauri
Guys! We have our first guest post!
A while ago we had decided that we would love to have our first guest post, so we began thinking of who we should ask... well after a while I decided that we should choose Brooke. She had sent us some of her manis in the past and they were gooorrgggeous... especially her feather mani... anyway.. I asked her... and she said yes! Below is her post! ;)
I wanted to create a look for a wedding I went to this past weekend. The wedding was on Jekyll Island in Georgia at a gorgeous wooden chapel. The wedding was beautiful & I had a great time seeing friends that I have been missing. Last week I went to Atlanta to do some Christmas shopping & I found a fabulous pair of raspberry suede shoes that would go great with my dress for the wedding. Naturally I went and found some nail polished that matched my new shoes! OPI's Louvre Me Louvre Me Not was pretty much a perfect match. I couldn't have just one color on my nails so I added Orly's Shine & Essie's Luxeffects in Set In Stones for some bling. I painted my thumb & middle finger with Louvre Me Louvre Me Not & the other three with Shine. After that was dry, I sponged Shine onto my thumb & middle finger. I then used a reinforcement label to make the half moons on my pointer & pinkie finger with LMLMN. I used the Set In Stones on my ring finger for some added bling. I topped everything off with a coat of Seche Vite's Fast Dry Top Coat to speed up my drying time. P.S. If you are wondering about the song, it's by an artist from Finland. Lauri Ylönen is the lead singer of the band The Rasmus and he released a solo album, New World, earlier this year. This is a remix off of the New World: Special Edition. I have been jamming out to this song for about 2 months. The original is great but this remix is fabulous.

ZOYA PROMO = RECEIVED!!!
I know, I know. You are TOTALLLLLY jealy of these polishes aren't you? It's ok. I would be tooooo.
Like most of you, I took advantage of the latest Zoya Promo (which was probably the best) and ordered one polish and got TWOOO free polishes of my choice. As you can see I got Robyn, Pippa, and Savita.
Robyn is a creamy bright blue color.. also one of my all time favorite colors in the world. I dont really have a whole lot of yellow polish so I thought.. why not.. ill get Pippa.. haha but she seems to be a really intense creamy yellow! Savita.... oh Savita.. how I lusted for you. Savita is a rick purple matte.. SO MUCH YES. I cant even explain.
I just wanna like.. carry the bottles in my purse and take them out and look at them when i need to be happy. -- that sounds totally unhealthy. but I cant help it. I just LOVE Zoya's.
you understand... right? :)

Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO
ON TO THE POLISH!!!
Im not Sure why I decided to do triangles.. but this is what happened. I did this at work.. so excuse the excess cuticle oil all over the place lol
I super duper love caitlin by zoya. I mean just look at all that purpley gray goodness...
I mean rarely do I ever just wear plain colors with no accent nail or design... but this color.. I just love. I really could have just worn it. 2 coats for full opacity... and look at the shine BEFORE a top coat of any kind... LOVE it.
I just used dove and caitlin from the zoya promo.. along with the smallest end of one of my dotting tools.... honestly I can make better designs with that than a nail art brush. I feel it gives me more control lol.... sooooo until next time...xoxo Summer

Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder
Sorry I have been M.I.A this weekend, I had A LOTTTT to do... mainly.. a baby shower. Which was my FIRST party that I have ever planned for anyone/anything. The theme was Zebra with pink and purple accents. I knew I was going to be doing a lot with my hands.. so I didnt do anything fancy since I was sure that they would chip. and they did. but here is the design I did for the shower. Everyone loved them.. but to me... they are so ehh... I normally do muchhhh better free hand zebra but I did them at work.. and felt rushed.
I really do like the color pink that I used. Im not even sure what it is called since it was a coworkers.. What I do know about it is, that it is from forever 21 and that it smells like cotton candy when it is dry. how fun? sooo fun.
Now onto the baby shower pics - keep in mind that I did this entire baby shower for less than 50 bucks. Below is a picture of the food... which of course is my favveeee part! hahah - the cupcake stand that you see, I actually made. All together it cost me 3 dollars.. and worked like a charm. My sister liked it so much she actually took it home with her. you can also see the wooden 'L' which I bought for 50% off and painted the zebra stripes on.. so cute. also.. the candy paci's I made for like 2 bucks.
The Centerpieces below were made by a family friend, Jennifer. She basically took the picture that I sent her, and duplicated them.. but I actually think they came out BETTER than the picture I had shown her. Theyre made out of diapers so that my sister can actually take them home and use them! The candy has custom labels on them with the baby's full name. I ordered about 100 of each for 3 bucks from ebay!
Everything that I used for the place settings was from the dollar tree - minus the zebra plates that I bought at party city. Everyone raved about them, and my 6 year old brother (asher) helped me set everything up!
Well there it is, my weekend in a nutshell. What do y'all think? Cute righhhht?

You Lie - The Band Perry (my nails are famous! sorta)
HIIII Y'ALLLL!!! It's me again, Summer.
Today was a blah day for me.. but something exciting DID happen. THE BAND PERRY tweeted a picture of my nails!!! Highlight of my day! I really do love their music ANNNND they are the biggest success story to come from my hometown of Greeneville, TN.
This is the picture that they tweeted!!!
I have been seeing ALOT of subtle stamping.. so I thought it might be fun to try subtle dotting...
This really is one of the most simple mani's that anyone could do.. but its really cute...dontcha think?
I got this color on sale at sally's for a dollar at their sidewalk sale and im actually really glad i did..
This is everything that I used. super simple. The purple finger paints is alot darker than this picture shows.. its a DEEEEEP purple.. but completely opaque in one coat.
Earlier in the day I thought about doing an ombre but didn't really want to put in the effort of mixing the colors.. I now. Lazy. but still... So I just did a comparison of the purples that I had at work. The polish is in front of the corresponding nail. Surprisingly.. I think my favorite is the Jolly Rancher random scented purple polish.. it was a little hard to remove but it was REALLLLY pretty in person. Thursday, May 19, 2011

She Aint You - Chris Brown
So for Easter my madre gave me an acrylic nail kit - with everything i would need to start practicing on how to do those... i know, my mom is awesome right? right.
Anyways, i used an opal tip and then used white acrylic powder - because i like to paint my nails and i figured if i did this i wouldnt have to use a base coat.
this is the result of my 2nd attempt.. i must say.. i did waaay better than expected. a few of my friends who go to have theirs professionally done said that they looked great for a 2nd attempt and want me to do their fill ins! hahaha

what do you all think? would you let me near your nails with acrylic?! hahah :) In this picture the nail color that i am wearing is Essie - Cute As A Button
ANNNDDDD this is after i added dots, the purple is Nina Pro - punky purple and the gold is Gold Grill

Enchanted - Taylor Swift

I thought I would make a quick update since I have kind of been MIA lately.
After taking an art class in high school, I learned that gold is purples compliment color so when I was trying to figure out a quick/easy mani to do for work this week I decided to try these two colors together - the purple is midnight snowfall by nicole by opi and the gold is called gold grill. i really like it!
So what do y'all think? like it or leave it?

That Should Be Me - Justin Bieber

So, last night a friend of mine came to stay the night with me. Me being.. well me, couldn't resist a make over. This particular friend rarely wears make up so I wanted to do something kind of extreme.. Its more fun that way.. right?
Anyway, I started with a liquid foundation and powder (both cover girl) and and used a bit of SEPHORA bronzer. Afterward I applied a eye shadow primer and then used a liquid liner by URBAN DECAY. Next I used an urban decay shadow (forgot the name, it rubbed off :p) and took a crease brush and rubbed in some "punki purple" eye shadow into the inside corner of her eye. I took an eyeliner brush and used the same purple shadow and lined the bottom lid and to finish off the shadow, put a small dab on the outer corner of her eye. I finished the whole look with Falsies Mascara by Maybeline.. I LOVEEEE it. don'tcha think it would be fab for a mardi gras party?

A Little Too Not Over You - David Archuleta
Earlier this week I tried water marbling on my nails, it totally did NOT work. So I decided to give cheetah nails a try. I had previously worn this look with dark brown, gold and tan, they didnt turn out so well.. this time I use neon colors and Im way happier with the way these turned out.
I did them by painting my full nail with sally hansen's lovely lilac and then adding random spots of bright blue and fuscia, and out lining them with black nail art polish.
Are these a DO or a DON'T???

*** side note: this came on my ipod today, I forgot how much I do love this song.
