Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

Sorry I have been M.I.A this weekend, I had A LOTTTT to do... mainly.. a baby shower. Which was my FIRST party that I have ever planned for anyone/anything. The theme was Zebra with pink and purple accents. I knew I was going to be doing a lot with my hands.. so I didnt do anything fancy since I was sure that they would chip. and they did. but here is the design I did for the shower. Everyone loved them.. but to me... they are so ehh... I normally do muchhhh better free hand zebra but I did them at work.. and felt rushed.

I really do like the color pink that I used. Im not even sure what it is called since it was a coworkers.. What I do know about it is, that it is from forever 21 and that it smells like cotton candy when it is dry. how fun? sooo fun.
Now onto the baby shower pics - keep in mind that I did this entire baby shower for less than 50 bucks. Below is a picture of the food... which of course is my favveeee part! hahah - the cupcake stand that you see, I actually made. All together it cost me 3 dollars.. and worked like a charm. My sister liked it so much she actually took it home with her. you can also see the wooden 'L' which I bought for 50% off and painted the zebra stripes on.. so cute. also.. the candy paci's I made for like 2 bucks.
The Centerpieces below were made by a family friend, Jennifer. She basically took the picture that I sent her, and duplicated them.. but I actually think they came out BETTER than the picture I had shown her. Theyre made out of diapers so that my sister can actually take them home and use them! The candy has custom labels on them with the baby's full name. I ordered about 100 of each for 3 bucks from ebay!
Everything that I used for the place settings was from the dollar tree - minus the zebra plates that I bought at party city. Everyone raved about them, and my 6 year old brother (asher) helped me set everything up!
Well there it is, my weekend in a nutshell. What do y'all think? Cute righhhht?

Zebra Nail Tutorial

So the other day one of our readers asked me to do a zebra nail tutorial.. so here goes nothing!

What You Will Need: a nail art brush in any color. I used sinful colors:nail art that I got from walgreens for 1.99. typically I use art deco from the dollar tree, since im cheap and all.

Next you will just choose your base color, I just used american apparel: cotton

After that has completely dried, just take the nail art brush and make slightly wavy lines about half way across your nail - i like to start from the corner and sort of go up and diagonal. i think it looks not so generic lol

Continue adding the lines until you have as many as you think looks good, and then add the wavy lines to the other side... going into the empty spaces between the other lines

After you have done this on all nails, just look at your nails and add 'filler' lines anywhere you think there is a gap - it should look similar to this when youre finished. BTW i left the ring finger white for an 'accent nail' but you dont have to do that.

SOOOOOO, did this help?? I will make a video later for our youtube acct and add a link!

Animals - by Josiah Lemming :)

The nails that I chose for my first post on groupie glam are basically my signature nail, they are SO easy and every time I paint them like this I get TONS! of great feedback. I first got the inspiration for these after looking at my friends shoulder bag. It was zebra of course, and I had just picked up this great nail art polish for a dollar on sale at sally's. Nail art polishes typically have a very thin brush and make precision lines a lot easier. Anyway, I rushed home from being at work and decided I HAD to try to make my vision a reality haha :)

First things first, choose your 'main color.' I chose my main color. In this case it was a great color I had picked up at Hot Topic a few weeks before that had some sparkle in it. *I'm such a sucker for glitter* The price for the polishes at Hot Topic is usually somewhere around $2.99, which you can't beat.
  • Paint your entire nail the 'main color' that you chose on both hands and let dry completely.

After your nails have dried completely (make sure they aren't still tacky or sticky) then we can begin the next step. The black nail art polish that I used was purchased from sally's. It was on sale, but they always have it. Sometimes they even have glittery ones :)
  • Take the nail art brush and from the sides of your nail make three small lines. I usually try not to make the lines straight because, afterall no zebra has straight stripes.

Repeat on all of your nails, and let dry. Top them with a clear coat for extra shine, and VOILA!

*** Obviously the song chosen to title this post was because its called animals :)
