Unconditionally - Katy Perry (Naked3 Daytime Look)

Hey y'all. I am a happy girl...because I just got Urban Decay's Naked3 this week! I am already obsessed with their Naked line so when I heard they were coming out with a palette that featured rose gold shades...I freaked out. No, really. I freaked out.

I went to Sephora on Wednesday night to wait in line and pick up my order before it went on sale to the public on Thursday. I was third in line. By the time I left, the line was out the door! Looks like my concert-line skills have finally paid off in the beauty world! I promised I would review it..and I'm pretty sure I'm going to sound like an advertisement for them...that's how much I love this palette. Two words: Absolute. Perfection. Rose gold shades are my favorite. I think they compliment my brown eyes really well. I overused the "toasted" shade in my original Naked palette on my lid crease. So I feel like this palette is just a major extension of "Toasted," which I think has a rose gold tint to it. If you love "toasted," then you won't be disappointed in this palette.
The quality is up to Urban Decay Naked standards. The already-vibrant colors stand out even more when paired with eyeshadow primer.

The price is steep, but well worth it. If you can get your hands on one, I highly recommend it as a gift for a good friend...whether they're makeup savvy or not. Perfect for beginners and perfect for addicts.

Standout shades: Dust, Buzz, Liar, Mugshot.
Perfect for daytime/everyday routine: Strange, Dust, Burnout, Trick, Liar, Limit.
Perfect for nighttime/dramatic look: Strange, Buzz, Nooner, Darkside, Mugshot, Blackheart.

Naked is obviously great for subtle looks, but you can also darken it up. If you're going on a trip, there's no need to bring 20 different single shades. Just throw Naked3 into your suitcase and you're ready to go!

To prove it, I'm going to do one daytime look and one nighttime look for y'all. First up: This is how I integrate Naked3 into my "everyday" makeup look. I put this makeup on at 6:30 a.m and left for a meeting. When I got back home in the afternoon, I decided to do a little "photoshoot." Hours later...still looks great! Summer teamed up with me and made an awesome manicure inspired by Naked3's daytime perfection. Enjoy the pictures below the cut!

Little Talks - Of Monsters & Men

Hey guys! It's me, Summer. I know, I know. I haven't updated in a while. I'TS FINE. I've been busy with Christmas and such.

I recently went on a trip with some of my friends (big surprise) and we met Ed Sheeran again. Oh, and Conor Maynard. Both are such cuties. Anyway, while I was on this trip my friend surprised me with a nail polish! It is an Essie polish called, "Da Bush," which i thought was hilarious because her favorite president is George Dubya Bush.

I decided to use it one day while I was working, I paired it with "Jade is the New Black" by OPI (one of my fave polishes ever).

"Da Bush" had a really good texture and was opaque in 2 coats which is better than my experience with most Essie polishes. Overall, I loved it. Definitely want to use this again in Fall.

Over and out, Summer.

Philadelphia - Parachute

Hey guys, its Summer!

I am back from yet ANOTHER concert. This time me and my friends went to Charlottesville, Virginia to see a band called Parachute. They played straight through both of their albums, one on each night. It was seriously an incredible experience. I had always loved this band, and had seen them live.. but after seeing them perform in their hometown to a sold out show.. they have become my fave. SO GOOD.

My nails for this trip were simple. I chose to do a glitter sammich with an accent nail. most of you guys probably recognize the green as Jade is the new black by OPI. still one of my favorite polishes for fall. The glitter sammich is Party of Five Glitters layered between (an unknown) Color Club (that i got on clearance at ross.)

These are some live shots i took at the concert.. sorry for the quality but I used my phone. We also made a video while we were there.. we are ridiculous. Watch if you will!

Little Things - One Direction

Hey guys! Short post for yall today. Did a simple mani for a concert last month. It was boys like girls, all American rejects, and parachute. It was super fun!

I used fast track by China glaze as the main color. Its such an amazing color. Tan with goldish green flakies. It is perfect for fall.  The pale pink is by color club, as is the glitter. I am in love with the accent nails.

Have yall heard the new one direction album yet?? this song was written by Ed sheeran, my fave. How do yall like it??

Inward Tide - Green River Ordinance

Well, I do believe I have set a record for the longest amount of time ive gone between posts. SORRY! Ive been busy living the rock star life style. Haha literally so many concerts.

Anyway, this mani is from a trip I took to Iowa to see train, Hanson, Adam Lambert, Matt Kearney, neon trees, greenriver ordinance, and Ryan star. It was one of the best trips I have ever taken and wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

The polishes that I used were Zoya Pippa and 2 mislabeled Essie polishes that I picked up from Ross for 1/2price! I used a dotting tool to make 2 diagonal lines of dots. super cute, super easy.

Promise ill start catching up with you guys more often. If you want to check out our crazy concert experiences you can subscribe to our YouTube channel! CLICKKKKKK

Yellow - Coldplay

When I returned to the States, I only had a few days to rest. Then, I was off to Atlanta for the Coldplay show! What an amazing way to be welcome back home. Hands down: it was the best concert I had ever been to!

I bought this polish awhile ago when the neon trend had barely begun. I never used it until this occasion came around. Honestly, I probably won't use it again. It was too thin and too messy. Yeah, my nails were a wreck after my trip but this was ridiculous. I loved the color, it just wasn't up to my expectations. I have a neon pink china glaze that works a thousand times better.

Wide Awake - Katy Perry

I'm back from London! I had an absolutely incredible experience studying abroad. Bear with me while I continue to update my personal blog along with this one. I tried posting while over there but I didn't have reliable internet service in the dorms like I was promised. Anyway, I can post them all now! Here is something I tried to post the very first week in London:

Before I left I had a mini-shopping trip in Walmart. I stocked up on travel-sized items and couldn't resist picking up some nail polish also. It was an unnecessary purchase but the "new" sticker made it very necessary in my mind. I bought Sally Hansen's Magnetic Nail Polish in Polar Purple. I was skeptical at first but ended up loving it! The instructions were very clear and easy.
"STEP 1: Apply 1 coat of base coat. Shake Magnetic Nail Color to activate. Remove overcap with magnet and set aside. Apply 1 coat of Magnetic Nail Color to all 10 nails and let dry.
STEP 2: Apply a thick second coat of color to 1 nail and immediately hold the built-in magnet over the nail. Rest the guide just below the cuticle without touching the wet nail polish. Hold for 10 seconds. Repeat for all 10 nails and let dry. Finish with top coat."
I had no problems at all and I loved the results.

Oh My Goodness - Olly Murrs

Okay, okay. I think I am setting a record for the least amount of posts that ive done..ever haha. it is mainly because ive been so busy doing awesome things! Can't be mad at that..

so after going to Nashville twice in one week for two different concerts, I also went on a road trip with my friends to see our guilty pleasure (one directi haha. It was so intense mainly because I was in eight different states in a matter of eight days. I wouldn't have done it any differently, even if we did spend an entire 48 hours in the car.

I wanted something that wouldn't chip or end up looking crazy with my outfit choices so I used zoya robin (one of my all time favorites) and paired with a color club top coat. I didn't have any chips at all until the last day. I was pleased.

The first picture isn't really color accurate, so I used a candid photo I took at work really quickly.

while we were there, my friends boyfriend actually took a few photos of us. hes reallly good! this is just one that we took! they all turned out well even though we were in 100 degree weather!

What have u done this Summer?
xx

This past week has been pretty busy, and this one coming up is going to be EXTREMELY busy, but really fun! I actually just got back from Nashville, seeing Ed Sheeran with a couple of friends, and tomorrow i leave for Oklahoma and from there we are going to Texas to see One Direction in concert. YES.
Anyway, onto the nails. I did these a few weeks ago and never posted them because honestly, i just dont love them. Ive done much better glitter gradients. The Gold polish is blonde bombshell by china glaze. I REALLY wanted to love this polish, and I do.. just not here. I actually got several compliments on these nails and  i will never know why haha.
I will have a big post coming soon, and im sure Alexis will have a HUGE post when she gets back from Europe. Keep your eyes peeled and your nails painted! hahah

Want U Back - Cher Lloyd

hi guys!!!

Sorry i havent posted in OVER a week. im horrible, right? its okay though. i have a bunch of pictures of a mint green/ leopard mani i did a few days ago.

I had bought this Essie polish a few weeks ago and had never had the chance to use it, but i had been thinking of doing another animal print mani for a while and thought that a mint accent nail would be soooo cute. i really love the colors together.

I used only dotting tools to make the leopard design, they arent the best ive done but they still look good enough. hehe All of the colors used for the leopard are color club.

The picture below is with no flash, you can really see how mint the essie polish is. LOVE.

anyway, i have something exciting to tell you.... yesterday i got to meet CHER LLOYD. yes, i love her. she is the cutest little brit girl and she is going to be HUGE. her music is just fun. ill post the picture whenever the radio station posts it. she covered OMG by user and it was perfect! so fun.

Chasing The Sun - The Wanted

Hi guys! Its me again, I have another post from Tulsa! This time its the other Taylor haha

I started out by doing her makeup, we used sin from the urban decay naked palette and crystal from urban I blended the sin from the inside corner out to the middle of the lid and then added crystal on the outer part of the lid as well as in the crease. I used oil slick eye liner. I felt like it really brought out her eyes. I also did a really dark eye shadow look later in the week but forgot to take pictures. Ugh!

next I did her nails. I didn't take much polish so we were sort of limited on what we could do. Somehow we ended up with 4 of the same color polishes haha. We did a skittles  mani. If you need to know the name of any of the polishes just ask. Its toooooo many to name haha

im hoping to do a dark and glittery eye shadow look for the Adam Lambert concert in July in her haha!

Like it?

xx summer

Be With You - Michael Castro

Guys, guys, guys.

Its me, Summer. I haven't posted in a few days... What's wrong with me? But have no fear, I am back! Haha

I have a few exciting things to mention before we get to the pictures.. our blog is going to be reviewing some polishes and hopefully Brooke and Alexis will be helping with that and also I hope to be hosting a giveaway of said product! YAYAY!!!! Also I have a few big posts planned including some 'no sleep for banditos' nails (Hanson) and ONE DIRECTION NAILS!!!!! So you will def want to stay tuned.

Anyway. Onto the swatches. This is Fever by Deborah Lippmann. Her polishes are always a great formula and even though this is one of the first polishes I bought of hers its still just like I bought it yesterday. I love the gold shimmer! After I had painted my nails I realized that the polish matched the hibiscus flower

On my Callender from the metropolitan museum of art! Love.

Do you guys have any lippmanns? What are your favorites?

xx Summer.

Grade 8 - Ed Sheeran

Hey there! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. Mine was very relaxing. I'm going to London in a few months, so on Friday I went shopping for clothes. I passed Sephora and couldn't help stopping in to pick this up. I've been dying for their Pantone color of the year polish set! I have been seeing everyone wearing this color. I've been obsessing over it and I finally got it for myself! I am Tangerine Tango's biggest fan. I love this color for this spring and summer! Plus, the orange and little + symbols on the bottles remind me of Ed Sheeran. :P

It comes with four polishes for $24.

From left to right:
  • Tangerine Tango Shimmer
  • Tangerine Tango Matte
  • Tangerine Tango Creme
  • Tangerine Tango Glitter

It was so beautiful outside yesterday. I was sitting outside painting my nails, so I decided to snap some pictures in the grass :)

Have you tried out any of Sephora + Pantone's Tangerine Tango products? What do you think? Are you loving this color as much as I am?

Fix A Heart - Demi Lovato

Hope everyone is having a great week! I have a few days left of spring break - so I thought I would upload a picture of my mani!

I haven't posted in awhile and I apologize. I lost my camera cord so I had no way of connecting my camera to my laptop. It is still missing...but I found a temporary one that works (very slowly).

I did this on Monday, so I had two days to enjoy it before I went to the car dealership and got a new one. Yep, I said that correctly. At my car dealership - free manicures are offered while you wait for your car to be serviced. How awesome, right!?

Pearl - Katy Perry

Hello! Today we have a guest post from Jackie. She contacted us and we were very excited to work with her. Jackie does outreach for the Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance (a leading web resource for mesothelioma cancer).

Lasting Beauty: Small Actions Big Impacts
By: Jackie Clark

For centuries women have known the positive association to looking good and feeling good and this holds true for any woman in any circumstance and in any culture. From a local farmer in rural Africa, to a heart surgeon in a developed country, the smallest effort to look beautiful not only enhances inner beauty but also reflects a spirit of hope and self worth. Beauty is a language across boundaries and can be especially significant for those who are depressed, grieving, or suffering from a chronic disease, for example, a patient with a diagnosis of a cancer with a less positive prognosis like mesothelioma. Two especially quick and relatively effortless beauty rituals include applying eye shadow and nail polish. Not only do these two small actions make a difference, but also they have other benefits for women both young and old.
