That Should Be Me - Justin Bieber

So, last night a friend of mine came to stay the night with me. Me being.. well me, couldn't resist a make over. This particular friend rarely wears make up so I wanted to do something kind of extreme.. Its more fun that way.. right?

Anyway, I started with a liquid foundation and powder (both cover girl) and and used a bit of SEPHORA bronzer. Afterward I applied a eye shadow primer and then used a liquid liner by URBAN DECAY. Next I used an urban decay shadow (forgot the name, it rubbed off :p) and took a crease brush and rubbed in some "punki purple" eye shadow into the inside corner of her eye. I took an eyeliner brush and used the same purple shadow and lined the bottom lid and to finish off the shadow, put a small dab on the outer corner of her eye. I finished the whole look with Falsies Mascara by Maybeline.. I LOVEEEE it. don'tcha think it would be fab for a mardi gras party?

Eyeshadow: Peacock - Katy Perry

If you know me, you know peacocks are my favorite animal. I was wearing my peacock necklace today and I was inspired to create this eyeshadow look! It is a fun night-time look. I love how it turned out.
Plus, I really want to make an eyeshadow look for every song off of Katy Perry's album "Teenage Dream." Her songs are colorful and I think I can makeup some creative eyeshadow looks!

One By One mascara: Like It or Leave It - Aly & A.J.

This week I bought Maybelline's One By One mascara! I was almost out of my Falsies mascara, so I needed to buy some more. I kept seeing the commercial for this mascara over and over again, so I decided to try it out.

Make You Feel My Love - Adele

Worst. Make Over. Ever.
I mean, just to be completely honest, this was a horrible experience for me. I showed up at the Laura Mercier counter to have my make up done by a group of traveling "professionals" but I honestly feel my 6 year old brother could have done better.

Here is where it went wrong: they didn't ask what I w
anted to done, which is standard procedure.
Next thing they did wrong: bad mouthing the brand that they were supposed to be representing as well as other makeup brands. In particular, saying MAC has horrible skin care. This is common knowledge (they were created as a color line, not particularly skin care) but still, very unprofesh.
The last thing they did wrong: openly admitted that they were just doing easy applications so they could go to lunch earlier. NOT okay.

If anything good came from this experience, its that I go
t to try this AMAZZZINGG refreshing stuff from Laura Mercier. I did a little research on it, and it says that they harvest it off the coast of japan a few times a year. It was really thick for water but
made my face feel great. WHY have I never heard of this before?
**side note: I ordered essie "matte about you" because im obsessed with matte/gloss manicures. pictures to come soon. also, I found Shatter Polish! YAY!

A Little Too Not Over You - David Archuleta

Earlier this week I tried water marbling on my nails, it totally did NOT work. So I decided to give cheetah nails a try. I had previously worn this look with dark brown, gold and tan, they didnt turn out so well.. this time I use neon colors and Im way happier with the way these turned out.

I did them by painting my full nail with sally hansen's lovely lilac and then adding random spots of bright blue and fuscia, and out lining them with black nail art polish.

Are these a DO or a DON'T???

*** side note: this came on my ipod today, I forgot how much I do love this song.

Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice

I decided this winter, after coming home from Washington D.C, that it has just been TOO cold. that being said, I really loved the idea of nails that look like they had just been dipped in water and ice sickles had just frozen on them. I decided that I would try to make this happen, and this is the result. Thoughts??

Heres how I did it:

I painted my entire nail "russian navy" by OPI

I then took white polish by OPI ( i cant remember the name ) and made vertical lines from the tip going down, I did various lengths and had to do this about 4-6 times on each nail for the look I wanted.
After I had let that completely dry, I took this silver glitter polish that I had previously
purchased at hot topic, and just dabbed the brush along the tip of my nail to make it look like it was dusted with snow, and gave it some texture.

***** over all, I'm really happy with the way that they turned out, and lots of people complimented them.. Hope you like 'em too!!

Shout It Out - Hanson

CHINA GLAZE - oh how I love you!

China glaze announced today via twitter that they were going be releasing six new shades of shatter/crackle polish, yes my friends I said SIX!

The colors are: black, pink, purple, gray, turqoise, and white.

I love china glaze and I hope these are as great as the rest of their products! Expect to see them in Sally stores sometime this month!!

Black Shatter Demo Video that I found.

Hey!! My previous post was about OPI's Black Shatter polish. I forgot to attach this video. This demo/review video I came across on youtube was really helpful to me. It shows you how the polish works and it gives you an idea of how much polish to put on/what colors it looks nice with. Hope it helps!

You can find my other post on the nail polish here !

Xo Hope you all are having a beautiful day!

P.S. Here is my twitter, if any of you are on twitter also! Twitter.com/lovesonglexi

If You Can Afford Me - Katy Perry

Hey everyone! It's Alexis. I would have posted yesterday, but I've been sick with the flu. I haven't been experimenting with my makeup too much these past few days. I haven't been feeling well at all. My first post is going to be about something that I have bought recently and I adore: Katy Perry's OPI collection of nail polish!

From left to right: "Teenage Dream", "Not Like The Movies", "Last Friday Night", "The One That Got Away", and the Black Shatter Polish.

You can purchase all of these polishes at Ulta for $8.50, I believe. I would have to double check on the price. I decided to buy the mini pack. It includes mini bottles of all of the Katy Perry polishes excluding the black shatter! It was about $12.50. Since the mini pack didn't come with the black shatter, I bought a full bottle separately. I was dying to try it out.

Read more after the cut!

Feathers - Coheed and Cambria

FEATHERS! Today while working, a co-worker (spen'sar) emailed me a link to a website she found for what could possibly be the cutest thing EVER. I checked out the website and I must say, im kind of obsessed.
Its called Fine Feather Heads, ill post the link at the bottom of this post. Anyway, its basically fusion hair extensions, only they arent hair, theyre FEATHERS! I just love this idea! Spen'sar said that she looked into it and they are a bit pricey for the finefeatherhead ones, but she found a great price on just regular feathers and beading them into the underneath layers of your hair.
I must say, she really has me inspired! hahaha :)
