Light - Rocket Summer

hellllloooo!!!!! I'm in a slightly better mood today ;) so I thought I would post some stuff that makes me happy! First of all, MY faveeeee pink polish ever. Pop Life by deborah lippmann. I rarely wear just plain colors, but this one is worthy haha.
Also, random side note: this color matches the pink on a cupcake box! They're the best cupcakes ever! And cupcakes make me happy tooo lol
Oh--- AND my sister had her baby. Remember the baby shower post? Well she finally had her! Baby lily is SO beautiful! I'd show you but I'm not sure my sister is ok with her being on the blog :/ She wasn't born in september like I wanted but at least she's a virgo like her auntie! (Me) hahah! Wellll that's all I have for today.

I'll Find Another You - John Mayer

Gah, sometimes.. life just throws you curveballs... ones you would NEVER expect. Definitely going through something recently.. and my nails.. are taking the brunt of it. i mean... look how short i filed them down! EEEEEK!!!!!!!

I just wanted to so something simple.. and this is about as simple as it gets. i used zoya in savita and phoebe. i really do like the color combo.. i think i could have done something way cooler with these two polishes but.. like i said.. i have been having a rough couple weeks.
This was taken before i did any clean up.... and look at my cuticles! they are basically yelling at me! what is wrong with me.... im not sure this damage is irreversible! hahahah
dont judge all the mess! next post will be better!!! swear. but i DO love these colors together.. dont youuu???
gah.. look at all that matte glory in this picture. is it weird to say that zoya mattes are almost.. not matte enough for me?? that sounds weird. but they still have a sheen to them that makes me want to apply some matte about you over top of them! haha - i know, im weird, but you love me.

Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles

Just a quick post before I leave today! Ive been so busy at my new position that I dont have much time to do my nails... blahhhhhh. BUTTT it is almost my birthday (16 days and counting) and I am sure I will get tonsssss of new polishes for you guys to see.

I started out by painting all of my nails yellow with Pippa.. and then used my speedy top coat to hurry along the process..
After that polish was dry.. I used Robyn to create a half moon on my nail and then to paint my entire ring finger....
FINALLLLLLLYYY after that was dry.. I added a few dots with my handy dandy dotting tool.

............................. Sealed it with my speedy top coat.. and VOILA. a simple summer mani... I thought it screammmeeddd summer time. Y'all like it???? Hope so!

ZOYA PROMO = RECEIVED!!!

I know, I know. You are TOTALLLLLY jealy of these polishes aren't you? It's ok. I would be tooooo.

Like most of you, I took advantage of the latest Zoya Promo (which was probably the best) and ordered one polish and got TWOOO free polishes of my choice. As you can see I got Robyn, Pippa, and Savita.

Robyn is a creamy bright blue color.. also one of my all time favorite colors in the world. I dont really have a whole lot of yellow polish so I thought.. why not.. ill get Pippa.. haha but she seems to be a really intense creamy yellow! Savita.... oh Savita.. how I lusted for you. Savita is a rick purple matte.. SO MUCH YES. I cant even explain.
I just wanna like.. carry the bottles in my purse and take them out and look at them when i need to be happy. -- that sounds totally unhealthy. but I cant help it. I just LOVE Zoya's.

you understand... right? :)

Seventeen - Stars Go Dim

Well, I went to the Stars Go Dim concert.. they were playing with A Rotterdam November.. I was SO excited for this... i thought there would be a lot more people there... but it like a kick back.. not even a concert. it was such a sit down atmosphere.. i was disappointed. BUTTTT the highlight of the night didnt come from either of those bands.

But before i get into that.. ill show u the nails that i wore to the concert :)

it sort of looks like pond water with algae growing on top. but i like it. hahaha the glitter is just wayyy more amazing that u would think. Its Call You Later by Sinful Colors.. its a bronzey green glitter. i mean... i cant even explain how much i love it. and for .99c?? u cant beat it. yyaaaa likkkee???? But the best part of the night was definitely when a couple of friends from Tulsa (who also like SGD) told me to go up to "Mike Left" and say YEAHHAHAHAHAHHAHH.. which of course i did.. and then they told me to ask him to sing. ANDDDD with little effort.. i convinced him to. He is actually super good. obviously. ANNND you should like him on facebook. k? CLICK! Here are a few shots of the bands... this is Stars Go Dim. It was such an intimate performance.. and by intimate.. i mean like.... 30 people. i was into it.

This is A Rotterdam November.. i was suprised by them too... super good. Brittany and i talked to the guitarist guy for like.. 30 minutes after. evidently he eats fish balls?? hahah jk. but u can check them out toooooo. PS - the guitarists guys name is Dylan - like die-lan. i like it. and doesnt he look like Mac Hanson? yes.

How To Love - Lil Wayne

CONCERT SEASON IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

you all have no idea how excited i am about this. It has been since MAY that i have been to a concert. IM DYING! SOOO when i heard that Stars Go Dim was coming to town.. i knew i had to go. I totally plan on doing SGD nails for the concert.. but until then.. this is what i came up with.

I used Revlon - blue lagoon and an art deco blue glitter. I actually kinda wish that i had this blue glitter in a full size bottle.. i sort of love it. Yall know of anything that might be a dupe???!!! LMK! I just started with a base of blue lagoon and added some random lines with the art deco.. super easy.. but i love the bluesssss
This picture is without flash.. and u can see that i was totally doing laundry in the back ground. oh wellllllll.

I really wish that I had more time to do nail art lately because i have gotten so many great polishes.. but honestly.. i started a new job.. and i have been TRAINING like crazy.. sort of intense. ok, not really.. but it keeps me too busy to do my nails. :( WAHHHHH

OH BEETEEDUBBS --- i found my long lost daughter. i mean.. shes sooo freakin PRESH! i saw her video on LaqueredME and spent the next hour going through and watching EVERY SINGLE VIDEO. ohmygod, i want my unborn child to be just like her.

how could u not just die for her???

Man Down - Rihanna

FROM THE VAULLLTTTTT:

As you can see.. this is defffff a post from when i first started doing nail art. I think i had actually just gotten my dotting tool.. and thought i was sooo rad with it haha.

I used Essie - Cute As a Button... in the bottle it looks pink.. but this picture makes it look very orangey.. the dots are midnight snowfall by nicole by opi and the gold dots are just a randooo gold :)

Also, look at those acrylics.. i think this is the first time i had ever tried them.. and u can DEFFF tell.. thank god im better at them now. (i dont wear them tho, fyi) Here is cute As a Button on its own... its a cute color.. maybe i should bust this out before summers end :) BTW im STILLL awaiting my zoya package.. oh, did yall take advantage of the .99c sinful colors? i TOTALLLLY did. Ill show u in my August haul post :)

Hesitate - SGD (pure ice crackle review)

Hiii! Some of you in PAA requested swatches and review of pure ice crackle, so here ya go!

The bottle says to use 2 coats (2 coats or crackle?!) Yeah that's what I said - BUT it actually cracks well with 2 coats. How? I'm not sure. But I used 2 coats over Deborah Lippmanns Pop Life. On the pinky however, I only did one coat.

Overall it cracks well and they have like five bajillion colors, and for 3.99 which is 3 to 4 bucks cheaper than the alternatives, ill take it! Hopefully next ill try the silver - it looked just like OPI silver shatter.

Moment 4 Life - Nicki Minaj

Hey everyone! In the beginning of the summer, I was playing around with eye shadow. I came up with a white/purple/blue look. I started off wanting to imitate Britney Spears' eye shadow in the "I Wanna Go" video, but I ended up doing this instead when I found some old blue eye shadow!  I went out for the day and when I came home I remembered to snap some pictures. This is what I came up with:

Pink - Aerosmith (((((DUPE!!!)))))

MY FIRST DUPE POST!!!!!!

I have for you today one of the CLOSEST dupes that I have ever encountered. I have never even seen a blog post a dupe that is THIS close. I bought both of these in the same week thinking that surely they wouldnt be EXACTLY the same... but I was wrong!!!

These colors are China Glaze - Shocking Pink and Sinful Colors - 24/7. Theyre TOTALLLY the same!!!

See they are TOTALLLLY the same... The colors are soooo much alike its insane. I actually wore both of these.. and to be completely honest.. the sinful colors lasted longer with out chipping. I mean they ARE neons, so that was to be expected.. but used a good top coat (color club 0-60) and the china glaze chipped within HOURS of application. completely irritating. However.. it did seem to dry very fast on its own... but the sinful colors did take a bit longer, even with the fast dry top coat.
All in all... the color is fun.. but the price difference is crazy - I paid 5.99 for the china glaze color at sally's beauty... and I paid 1.75 for the Sinful Colors polish. If u just HAVE to have this color - Might I suggest saving a little money and going for the cheaper polish at walgreens! I really did love the Sinful Colors formula more so than the CG!

dontcha think thats a CLOSE dupe?? I do.

Maybe - Sick Puppies (mani monday!)

HIIIII!!!! sorry about my hiatus this week - Ive been super busy and no time for cute manis! anyway, I am here to make up for it.

As most of you know I am part of the FB nail polish groupppppp and every monday they do a nail art challenge. Well this monday they decided on animal manicures. that means animal print, or an actual animal HAHA! welllll here is what I came up with! PUPPY NAILS!!!

I didnt want to stamp or do zebra or leopard because... lets face it... EVERYONE will be doing that. I kept thinking I wanted to do a puppy and thought I could do a beagle (like my doggie) but then I saw a disney dvd laying around the house and automatically thought! 101 DALMATIONS!!!!!!!! Best idea EVER if I do say so myself.
Also, because this is a puppy post.. I will give you a picture of meeee and my baby when I first got him about 2 or 3 years ago! Hims sooo cuteeeee!

And FINALLY... I leave you with a picture of my nails when I first began nail art - I thought water slides were the ISHHHHH.... and look at my nubs! hahah its ok - I played guitar and thought it was soooo cool to have short nails. I still dont like talons.. or long nails i should say. and now i must go :)

Bad News Baby - Josiah Lemming (feather nails!)

Hey kids! smeee again, Summer. I have for youuuu a FEATHER NAIL TUTORIAL!!!!!

uhm, HELLERRRRRR - do u SEEE this mani? IN LOVE. Its a total feather mani - I saw this on tumblr and decided that I should try.
Not to Toot my own horn or anything, but i like mine BETTER than that one. (toot toot) But maybe thats because its my mani. hahaha...
This is everything that I used for the mani. I bought the pack of feathers at hobby lobby for like... 1.49 and it was enough for 50 manis. Im not sure what color club color this is.. but its basically my new favsies. its my perfect nude polish. ANYWAY.. here is how I did this mani
  • Paint every nail with your base color.
  • WHILE the polish is still tacky - take the feather and lay it down gently onto the nail, and easily press the sides down so that the feather is laying completely flat. leave the extra hanging over the edge. Repeat on all nails
  • Let dry, then trim the extra feather off of your nails. If any extra strands of feathers are loose, dont worry.. we will hold those down in a sec!
  • After trimming all the excess feather - paint a clear coat over your nails - I used a thick coat of sally hansen hard as nails (yes i know this is a hardener - but it makes my nails super shiny)
  • Take a Fast drying top coat and put it on top to seal everything in (optional) I used color club 0-60 top coat because its my faveee

Here is a close up of the thumb - It just looks so perfect. I loooveeeee it. Im probably gonna do this again for Nashville Fashion Week this year..
SO pretty I cant even look at it. omg.
Yeah this is a weird angle.... but i just cant stop looking at my fingers! loveeeeeee
