For The First Time - The Script

Hellloooo thereee! Tis me! Summer! Ha ha ok, well.... Today I wanted to do something simple and chic. I've been having a rough couple of days and my manicure was a dissaassstttter.... So I took it off and started with a few coats of color club 'sheer disguise' and then added a swoopy line of 'vintage couture' I love these colors but the formula for them seem a bit streaky. Maybe its just me.

Well helllllo there! I've had quite the day today! One of my good friends from high school moved to Knoxville today and I finally spent some time wiff her!!!! Wooohooo for friends!!!!!

Anyway, I joined the PolishAholics Anonymous group on facebook and they are doing this awesome thing called manicure Mondays! This weeks theme was floral. Now I didn't want to go with those same ole blob flowers that everyone does and I didn't wanna stamp either... BUT I didn't have time to do anything super cute so I just went with simple flowers. But I love it! So easy and cute. I may try it again. I saw a similar technique on the daily nail. Yall should try it!!!!

A little summer shopping...

Hey! It's Alexis! Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday. Before I left for the beach, I did a little summer makeup shopping. I went to Victoria's Secret for their sale! The makeup area was PACKED, but I was able to snag two quality items for a great price...

2nd Sucks - A Day To Remember

well... its me again, Summer. I know this is sort of a plain mani but i saw a greaaaatttt blog that had the cutest little palm trees on it.. and i thought... wonder if i can even draw a palm tree LOL.. well i can. this is the result of me just messing around with colors and sponging and free hand. i really like it.

i plan to try the palm tree thing again, but over a gradient of some sort.. its definitely fun for summer dontcha think?

*** random side note.*** have you all ever seen p.s i love you? i just watched it and CRIED MY EYES OUT. omg i was sobbing like a baby. if you HAVENT seen it i demand you do so. NOW!

Father of Mine - Everclear

Hello world. Its me, Summer.

I guess you could say i'm following the trend.. and layering glitter. In the past month i have seen like.. 3 bloggers try this and it basically looks AMAZINNGGGGGGG. So... here is my version.

I used tickled pink by Wet 'N Wild, party of five glitters by Wet 'N Wild, and on top i used pink-a-doodle by OPI.

I love the way that the top layer mutes the harshness of the glitter. you can see in the picture above how contrasting the party of five glitters is the the tickled pink polish. it allows me to wear a chunky glitter with a pale polish color. LOVEEEE..

Hi there! its me, Summer.

As you all know, ive been practicing my sponging technique - trying to get better at it. so while i was surfing the net the other day at work, i came across the 'galaxy nails' concept - and im basically in love. i mean.. my inner nerd was SCREAMING for me to do these. i was completely in love with the way they turned out.

I used about 4 different colors. Started with a base and layered the other colors on top with a sponge. I love the way that none of the colors looked like the original after i was finished!

I used my dotting tool to add a few 'orbs' and blended the harsh white by dabbing on some of claires venomous polish....
so tell me...................... do yall like it? and im sure you can guess why i chose this song :p

wellllllllllllllllllll - i guess im off to eat mexican with my bestttttesttttttt!!!!

Zoya 'touch' Review pt1

Hello - its me, Summer. I had the opportunity to review and swatch zoya's 'minka.' I really liked the consistency - very milky and only needed 2 coats to be completely opaque. I can't stress how thick the formula was.... Honestly it could have used some thinner.... But it dried nicely.

im honestly not sure if i love it or not, i think it makes me look like i have mannequin hands.. but maybe if my skin wasnt so cullen like.. and i actually had a tan.. it may look better...

since i knew i wasnt going to have this polish on for long i decided to practice sponging. i used deborah lippmann 'no more drama' and a random gold polish.. i think i need more practice LOL... what do yall think???

California Gurls - Katy Perry

Hellloooo. Alexis, here. Long time, no see! I just returned from the most epic roadtrip of all roadtrips! I traveled to Atlanta to see my idol, KATY PERRY : ) I adore her. So my friend and I decided to dress up like California Gurls from her music video! I thought I'd share my pictures since those costumes were full of glitter, makeup, and candy. So so so much fun to make!

BLAHHHHHH. thats basically how i feel about these nails. i dont see anything extra cute about them. so they are just sort of blah. i didnt even bother doing the clean up around the edges because i knew i would take the polish off before too long.

this is my first attempt at making a cupcake stand. i think i will redo the middle supports.. they look a bit weird. but everything i needed to make this cost me less than 5 dollars, and it was enough supplies to make TWO cupcake stands.

Stupid Girls - Pink!

SOOO since i have been planning my sisters baby shower - i have been SUPER busy.. and my nails are suffering. i have a 3 day old manicure on right now. those of you who know me.. know that is a loonggg time.

so i decided to post a mani that i had done wayyyy backkkk when. it was one of the first manicures i had ever done. its BARBIE!!!!!!!!

oh.. and this is what ashley made me the other day at work. she wuvvs her summer sky.. and i wuv my ashy!!! hahah

You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban

SOOOOO - i decided to try my hand at watermarbling a few weeks ago. i never got around to posting this because i had actually intended on re doing it.

wellll since im a procrastinator.. i didnt. i sort of did this on a whim.. and i only used 2 colors and i didnt even use a base color.. hence the holes and edges that are plain.

i sort of got the hang of it.. and i think i could really do something cool next time.. if i realllllly tried ahha... the only bad thing is the clean up.

since i didnt actually plan on doing this.. i didnt even bother with taping.. i knew i wasnt going anywhere the next day so i just dipped and took it all off with a cotton ball held with tweezers. eventually im going to make a video of the way i do this.. a few people requested one.. but all yall nail bloggers out there already know how to, im sure!!!

'Blue Sky' MY FIRST FRANKEN!!!

Hellllowwww my lovelies!!!!!!!!!! Y'all have a good weekend??

Soooo on my weekly shopping trip I decided to pick up a few cheap polishes and try my hand at making a franken... I reallllly love the way that it turned out.

I used half a bottle of sally hansen hard as nails in clear.. and 1/3 of a bottle of WnW glitter - i dont remember the name :/ and i used WnW in french white creme and a no name navy 'bon bon' polish.

I was going for a Glitter in the Air sort of polish - like deborah lippmanns.. i dont think i hit the nail on the head.. but i SERIOUSLY love the way it turned out.

I decided to name this bottle 'Blue Sky' because of the Hanson Song.... I think since they are my favveee band that its cute to name all of my frankens after one of their songs.. maybe its lame.. but it makes me happy!!!!!

Stronger - Sara Evans

NOTD-- simple.. is really the only what i have to describe this lol.. all i did was paint my nail a base color (black creme WnW) and sponged on a few colors (zoya- phoebe, fever- deborah lippmann, silver - sally hansen) and then did a tape accent nail in a triangle shape using the blue i sponged on and topped it all with Essie's matte about you......

Touch My Hand - David Archuleta

For Memorial Day weekend, I went to Myrtle Beach! I went for Mayfest to see the wonderful David Archuleta, of course : ) 

So, the week before, while I was watching the idol finale (congrats Scotty!), I decided to paint my nails to match the dress I had planned for the concert. I could have been boring and just painted my nails purple, but I wanted to try freehand nail art! For the first time EVER..so please be kind. Haha.

hahaha but if only because my nails are the same color as the little guy in the video :)

i used Zoya - Phoebe and Sally Hansen for the silver! i love this color tho, i got a ton of compliments on it. the only bad thing is that because its matte it dries like super fast... making it hard to get it completely smooth. its cute tho.. am i right?

.... looking at this picture u would think that i painted my nails to match this air head wrapper.. but it was a total coincidence! Ashley brought me some candddayyyy and i opened it up and was like - MUST TAKE NAIL PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is it sad that was my first thought?........ no? didnt think so!
